Our on-line ShoreTel quote request tool is really very simple. You as a buyer are in control, simply answer the various questions below to be matched up with ShoreTel telephone system vendors that can meet your requirements. With a few telephone system pricing quotes in hand, it will be much simpler for you to make a decision.
Selecting a business telephone system can be quite a complicated job. Regardless if you're just entering the market, or upgrading your business phone system to meet growing needs, the market has really expanded to meet today's demand for constant communication and collaboration.
It isn't like deciding on your long-distance provider or cellular phone. Within those marketplaces, the options are usually minimal and it's mainly one size fits all.
But a PBX is definitely an totally different decision. Companies have many different requirements and particular needs in terms of communications. Features can make or break your office telephone system, determining your ability to scale with potential future requirements and expansion, your ability to make use of the effectiveness of the net in your communications network (with technology such as Voice over ip,) and your capacity to stay bulletproof and protected from services failures, with products such as power supply back up UPS systems as well as remote management functionality. With your PBX being so important, let's take a look at a thing or two which you may need to take into account.
Employee salaries are the price of doing business. However, paying someone just to answer phones, or taking time away from an otherwise skilled employee to perform this menial task is really a waste of funds. You'll be glad to know that most of the same features can be taken care of by many of the business phone systems these days, both cheaper, and better than a human. At the most basic level, these "Auto Attendant" features includes options such as allowing your users to brows through a touchtone activated menu, reach specific extensions or access information recordings. Maybe someday we'll even have a PBX that will brew a pot of coffee...
More interesting are auto-dial capabilities, which can be used to provide a wide array of useful functions. At the most basic level, many of us associate PBX auto-dialing with robo-calls, or telemarketing. However, the systems can do much more than that, with tasks like sending text messages to cell phones automated for instant and informative personal, departmental, or company-wide alerts and notices. Recordings or messages can be delivered as well, and many packages even provide text to speech for reading messages to the recipient, such as crucial e-mails.
Not all the systems on the market are proprietary. Many commercial options are powered by an open source PBX package. The "Asterisk" project is a suite of high powered, feature rich software PBX tools, very popular with many businesses. The software runs on a standard PC, along with specialized interface cards to connect you to the outside telephone system (including everything from standard telephone lines, through ISDN or T1 lines.) Features are rich, including robo-dialing, auto-operator menu systems, voicemail, voice over IP, and much more.
Of course this doesn't come without downsides. You'll either need to administer all of this yourself, or hire an expert to setup and administer the system for you. With the full features of the suit, also comes a sometimes difficult and time consuming process of installing it.
No one can say for certain how their business will grow over the coming years. One thing is certain though, communications will forever be the core of any successful business. The PBX forms the nervous system, the core of all your business dealings. Without choosing a powerful and business telephone system though, that nervous system is left lacking, and your business crippled. Whatever your choice, the benefits brought by some of these new features will undoubtedly bring a serious boost to your productivity and capabilities.
